**Care Worker Eastbourne**

We are looking for a carer to support a gentleman in the Eastbourne area of East Sussex with Complex needs in his family home.  Ideally, we need two support workers to cover part time hours or one support worker to cover full time hours.
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Driving licence and over 25’s (MUST)
I am a 28-year-old disabled man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I have severe muscle
weakness in all areas, which restricts all movement and requires the use of an electric wheelchair. I
have to use a Bipap machine, PEG machine during the day and also use a cough assist machine due
to muscle weakness (training can be given). I require assistance with all aspects of personal care (as
required).
The job will be varied as I live a full and busy life where I can, and I live with my mother. I am looking
for someone who is flexible (when needed), non-judgemental, able to be appropriately professional
in a more informal environment and able to support me to live my life how I choose.
Successful applicants will be entitled to holiday pay (5.6 weeks per year). You must be willing to
undertake an Enhanced DBS check if required (to be paid by employer) and online training. Previous
experience in PA/Care Work is essential.
MAIN DUTIES:
Assisting me with toileting during the day (my include hoisting).
Transferring me in and out of my wheelchair to my bed (if required) using a hoist.
Experience of hoisting/manual handling is essential.
Preparing food and drink as required and assisting me.
Supporting me to access technology e.g. TV, iPad and mobile phone.
Accessing the outdoors including walking, as I like to be out whenever I can (weather permitting).
Shopping, cinema, socialising and visiting coffee shops.

**Care Worker Telscombe Cliffs**

 

Description

Urgently looking for Several Carers needed in the Peacehaven/Telscombe Cliffs area to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, 13.30 - 20.00.

We also require carers for the weekend Saturday 7am-8pm (shift can be split 7am-12/2pm or 12/2-8pm)

Sunday 7am-8pm (shift can be spilt like Saturday).

 

We are looking for carers with or without previous caring experience, full training will be provided. An enhanced DBS is required, which we will pay for - you will not be able to work unless you have one! Insurance is also provided.

 

The duties will include, using an H frame ceiling hoist, administrating medication via his rig and some personal care.

The care is for a man in his 60’s with Multiple Sclerosis, he is non weight bearing. He is hoisted into his chair, he spends most of the afternoon in the lounge and back to bed. He is very alert and chatty

he does have a large sense of humour, also understandably he can have down days, not often.

 

The work is in a nice comfortable environment where you will have your own room with an en suite bathroom and TV, you can watch tv and relax until needed, with access to WIFI. During the shift you are also welcome to sit in the nice garden.

Being part of our small team means that you will be asked to cover sick & holiday periods as well.
