We are urgently seeking male or female PAs and overnight respite carers for a 6-year-old boy with learning disabilities in the Hastings area of East Sussex. Eddie has 1p36 deletion syndrome resulting in autism and significant learning disability. He is fully mobile but sometimes uses a wheelchair due to tiring easily. He requires full personal care and needs support to control his food intake.

  •  We pay £9.50 per hour, LA funded.
  •  Drivers preferred; fuel paid at 50p per mile.
  •  Hours needing immediate cover –
  •  One evening a week in house care 6.30pm - 8.30pm (Ore, Hastings)
  •  One afternoon a week term times only, collection from school (Bexhill) plus activity (for example swimming/Sealife/park), to 5pm. Weekends and school holidays hours are flexible depending on family plans and PA availability.
  •  We are also looking for overnight care either in or out of house, occasional hours, flexible hours and job shares very welcome, we are looking to build a small team of people to help support Eddie and his family. **Children's care worker Hastings**

 

We are looking for a PA to join our team to assist Violet within the home, in Hastings and beyond.

Violet is a happy, fun and cheeky 7 year old girl. Violet loves the outdoors, exploring and going on adventures. And all things girly, including shopping, getting her hair and nails done and spending time with family and friends.

Violet is a very sociable girl and being a great companion to both Violet and her twin brother will be key to making the relationship work well.

The role will initially comprise of supporting Violet at home in Hasting. Much of the role will comprise of putting a smile on our wonderful girls face through play and having fun. Adventures outside the family home such as day trips will feature regularly.

Violet is a fulltime wheelchair user and requires full support in all areas of her care throughout the day and night. This includes manual transfers, administering medication, tube feeds, personal care, setting up of equipment, completing physiotherapy routines, amongst other duties. Violet has epilepsy, specific training will be provided.

Experience is much welcomed but not essential as full training will be provided for the right person. Full UK drivers license would be preferred. DBS check is required. Hours are both flexible and negotiable. The majority of support will be required in the evenings, weekends and during the school holiday periods. There will also need to be an element of short term notice  availability.

We currently have a lovely team of 4 ladies but are looking to add to ‘Team Violet’ to allow as much flexibility as possible.

  • You will need to complete care notes and monitoring records everyday and make sure prescriptions are ordered in on time.


Essential Criteria

 

  • You must be a car driver as a company vehicle is available for outings and for food shopping trips, clean driving license is needed for this.
  • You must have some experience in live in care setting preferably and would like someone who knows how to run a home.
  • Job is open too males or females with a good sense of humour.
  • You must be legally allowed to work in the UK

 

**Personal Care Assistant Hove**

 

We are looking for fun and active PAs in the Hove/Brighton area to support a young man with cerebral palsy, who is sociable, has a great sense of humour, loves meeting with friends and has a love of art.

You will be joining a small team of carers / Personal Assistants offering 24-hour care and support to ensure the 23-year-old man with severe and complex physical and health needs, continues to be independent and happy as well as having his needs met.

 Full time shifts available for waking nights and one shift with a combination of waking nights and days.

Responsibilities

  • Support with all aspects of personal care and manual handling.
  • Support and administer young man’s therapy and treatment.
  • Safe administration of medication and completing relevant documentation
  • Meeting this young man’s day to day care and social needs to enable him to be as independent as possible.
  • To support young man with unsettled nights.

 

Essential

  • Positive interest of working with adults with additional needs
  • Excellent communication skills and good writing skills
  • Must be flexible and be able to accompany YP on holiday and other trips
  • Non smoker
  • Resilient and outgoing with fun personality; ability to take the initiative as well as being sensitive.

 

Desirable

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in care work.
  • Driver with clean driving licence preferred but not essential
